I have the same issue.
Can see the status of I-485s online, but system doesn't even recognize my I-140 LIN#.
Attorney says that this is fine. Asks to wait for few more months.

Does filing of dependent's I-485 anything to do with LUD on approved I-140/I-131 of Primary applicant? Anybody having similar experience?

I got an LUD too for 8/12 but not on my underlying 140 petition but on a differant I140 petition. I have two I140's - I applied 485 thru my current employer on 8/3 at TSC.

If your I-485 EAD comes through you have to use that and not the F1 EAD.

Every time you use your credit card they ask for photo ID.
I know! Thats why I posed this thread. Today I was buying a sandwich and when I passed my credit card the guy asked for a photo ID since I have "see ID" on the back of the card. I didnt have my passport with me so I couldn't present him anything but my student ID. He goes "thats not valid". So I told him the story and then I said "come on, if I had stolen this card do you think I would do: buy a sandwich for $7.68 or go to Tiffany's right now". He laughed and charged it :)

I would like to know what you had filled in DS 160 application. Have you ever been refused visa or admission withdrawn application. Is it Yes or No. My spouse h4 (I 539)was denied as I 94 was expired hence leaving country for H 4 stamping.

The sudden backlog reduction efforts by Citizenship and Immigration Services Offices during the past month have resulted in the use of almost 60,000 Employment numbers. As a result of this unexpected action it has been necessary to make immediate adjustments to several previously announced cut-off dates. All Citizenship and Immigration Services Offices have been notified of the following:
Effective Monday July 2, 2007 there will be no further authorizations inresponse to requests for Employment-based preference cases. All numbers available to these categories under the FY-2007 annual numerical limitation
have been made available. Employment preference numbers will once again be available to these chargeability areas beginning October 1, 2007, under the FY-2008 annual numerical limitation.

Hi, I recently got a H1B extension stamping in Chennai consulate upto 2010 and I came back to SFO last week. Since my passport is expiring on July 2009. I-94 was issued upto July 2009.
Now my issue is to extend my I-94 upto the validity of H1B visa. I went through similar thread and it says crossing US border to Mexico or Canada will do to get the new I-94. So I am planning to make a trip to Mexico after my passport got renewed to renew I-94. Does it work?. Or do I have to go out of American Continent to get the new I-94. Some thread from (other sites) said, I need to go out American Continent..Is it true?.
Or is there any other way to extend my I-94 without crossing the border?.
Gurus - Please help if you faced any similar situation and sucessfully got your i-94 renewed.

There are several instances when a denial notice was sent, but the website continued to show the status as pending.
So if a denial letter has been received, then the website status means nothing.

He had published an article on the Sept 17 Washington Post Main Page.He is a well known reporter in DC area. I think he is originally from India. If you search his name in google ,you will get lot of hits !...
You may have googled Rajiv Chandrasekaran, but did you find any articles that he has written on immigration? If so, please share with us...were you aware that there is another journalist from the Washington Post who has done a stellar job of covering legal immigration? Her name is S. Mitra Kalita...please google her too.
BTW, why just google journalists who are of Indian heritage? I hope this is not an Indo-centric organization...also Rajiv Chandrasekaran is not originally from India, his parents are. I hope that distinction is not lost!

I was in the same boat as you. I did not get my wife's AOS receipt but all others ( 5 out of 6) . But when the FP notices came with her AOS receipt number on it, I thought USCIS may have misplaced the receipt.
Right after the fingerprint, we received this LUD on her AOS case:
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Notice returned as undeliverable.
On October XX, 2007, the post office returned our last written notice on this case as undeliverable. This can have serious effects on the processing of this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent.

I totally agree with you...recently I moved to CA and it took me close to 2 months before I had 3 offers...I can see it can be frustating, distracting but keep +ve and it will be rewaded.

I've also found that the dataset actually updates inside the program so that seems to be working alright however just the writing of any xml file after a openFileDialog is used doesnt seem to write.

I am not sure how successful the effort of IV would be. I am not sure if all the work done by the core memberts and volunteers will help us to get quick of the mud we are in. I have a "plan B" and do not rely much on this mirage called Green Card. If it comes in a reasonable time - OK, if not - then I am gone. World is a wide interesting place and if one is a hard worker and a honest person, there is always opportunities.
But I contributed, I supported the IV effort and I am sure that I have done the right thing. Today is St. Patrick's day and that reminded me a saying of an old Irish friend: - "We better die standing instead on our knees". In our case it means that even if we do not achieve anything with this money and loose it, at least we prove that we are not just silly turkeys :p
Keep fighting for the right cause !

Thankyou! That's what I intend to do. We need to wait till we get the denial notice and then plan on MTR/Apeal. I am planning to consult more than one lawyer just to be safe. I just wanted to see if any of the forum members came across similar case.
