In Ca. the routine is to set up a DUI Checkpoint, then set up cops on streets around the checkpoint. Trying to avoid the checkpoint will also get uyou pulled over.
Nothing wrong with the app. I use the Android version.
BTW - My sister was killed by a drunk driver. I believe in freedom of speech and expression. The Constitution is not in place to protect favorable or popular speech, just the opposite. Do I like racist skin heads? No. I'll protect their rights to speak and be idiots though.

This maaay be a stupid question, but does anyone know if these Nano's are going to be sold indefinitely, or will they be a limited product? I'm thinking more along the lines of indefinitely, but I'm not really sure.

I can just imagine that future Apple operating systems might very well include native protection that wold continue to thwart people wanting to sell anti-malware for Apple OS.

I don't believe they will get larger screens, they are almost too large for most cars when boxed as it is.

I agree 100% with the sentiment of what you're saying -- I think the matte vs. gloss thing is WAAAAY overblown, but just for argument's sake, remember that CRT have a curved front screen, not a flat sheet of glass. That's going to diffuse a lot of external light just by the nature of the design.
Sure, maybe, but I remember not being able to even see what was on glass tube CRT monitor when the shades were open. Heck, TVs in summer ? :eek: While there may be virtues to the matte screens, I doubt it's as big an issue as some people make it out to be.

Yes they have their issues, but they will not dwindle away. Very few large scale enterprises stay on the upside all the time. Remember when Apple nearly bit the dust? It can happen to any of them. MS will be fine.

It IS a nice gesture... I had to uninstall it as it doesn't seem to play nice w/ Cyber Duck (app simply won't open w/ Sophos installed)....haven't run into chatter about that issue, so maybe something unique to me [shrug]

But, in that respect, it's worth noting that the corolation you're making could be made for any number of diseases - heart disease, liver failure, certain cancerns, etc. Female mortality rates are generally higher for many diseases. I'm not sure what the scientific reasoning is for this... perhaps someone here has a medical background more developed than mine who would know the answer to that. I would guess it's the same reasoning as for children, in that women are generally smaller and thus likely have less physical cell mass, and thus less innate ability to fight disease?
Either way, your original point is well-taken... but the overall numbers are still heavily skewed towards more men than women being afflicted. Not sure what that means, and at this point we can talk in circles about who is right and who is wrong, but it doesn't amount to much.
It's a terrible tragedy that the disease exists in the first place, let alone spreads, and if donating a percentage of the proceeds from a successful business helps that cause in some way I'm all for it - whether there are alterior motives or not is immaterial. It's a good thing.

Unless that guard's life was in danger, there was no reason to shoot anyone, especially in the head. The placement of that shot was no accident.

I'm amazed that so many people are basing their judgment of the "head shot" on 3rd person shooter games and CSI. In the real world, anyone with training will always be aiming for the center of mass, and where he actually hits depends more on luck than anything else.
In other words, just because the criminal was hit in the head, doesn't mean that the security guard was aiming for his head. A mall security guard with a pistol shooting at a moving target during a gunfight doesn't have the accuracy of a Marine sniper shooting a sniper rifle at a stationary target.

He means CUT and paste hence the caps. Not copy. i.e. The text you select is both deleted and copied to the clipboard. I use it a lot myself in Windows and do miss it in OSX. Also allows you to easily move files around by CUT and pasting them :D

There is literally no consistency between anything. Just go to the Control Panel, and while clicking dialogs you will be transported between windows that look like they are modern Web Pages (especially the network panels, with blinking computers) and panels that looked like they haven't realized that Windows 95 is obsolete yet.

What I do give credit to MS for is that its security model is rock solid (probably better than Linux and most Unixes). Mac OS X has fallen behind in security. This, however, is not that big an issue anymore, IMO, because all OS security is complex enough that attackers are relying on OS vulnerabilities less, and Social Engineering more to gain access. Again, Windows's bad (and more important in this context, horribly inconsistent over the years) UI has made its users more vulnerable to such attacks.

I thought 10 Mega Pixels were possible with some tech that is suppose to arrive at the end of this year for phones.
I wonder if the new phone was like the original iPod Shuffle. You wear it around your neck. That would be funny. I would like the Star Trek Next Generation phone were you tap it on your chest to call people and it automatically goes into speaker phone. That was sort of like the shuffle concept with simple controls and no screen. Even works with iTunes.
