Why in limbo? The "phone part" of the Iphone is widely acknowledged to be craptastic.
I'm a big proponent of Android, but I will admit that the music player portion isn't exactly the most user friendly. Makes me miss my 3GS.
Hopefully they redesign it a little in future iterations.

Oh and spacemanspifff, please, use Google, the solution has already been provided - talking about ancient problems hardly bolsters your case. Yes, a solution posted 12 or so hours ago is ancient - keep up with the play.
Kindly enlighten me as to which "Solution" you are talking about? If it's the font cache thing, then guess what? That was the first thing I tried, and I didn't need google to help me there - it does nothing to fix it. You seem to be confusing me with someone who has no knowledge of mac systems. I'll have you know I've been using macs since the SE, so I know a bit about them. My business depends on them working. I'm not some dumb kid who just uses a computer to play games and waste time on the net.
If you're going to post replies, then please provide clarity. otherwise people will think you're an idiot.

Apple needs to replace the optical drive with another AMD GPU, and Crossfire them sexy beasts up. Gone will be the days of Macs that can't run every game in existence at max settings.
A beefier CPU and High end GPU would be more beneficial than a second GPU. Even modern game engines still don't properly utilize two graphics cards unless the individual developers do custom optimisation.

As long as they show it and preview it, I'm okay with waiting. Especially if it's a redesign

I can't get to excited about this, it will take me 10 hours to download 2GB
10 hours? Luxury. I dream of being able to download 2GB in 10 hours.
It'll take me over 4 days.

Anyone downloading and installing on an MBA?
Wondering about trim support.
TRIM support was in the previous build as well so there is no reason for it not to be there still unless there was a major bug (doubt it).

I'm hoping for a streaming device with a remote that allows me access to media on my mac from my TV. Of course Apple will overly simplify it and limits it's capabilities, but well love it anyways.

I don't see that happening. Apple tends to avoid complicated product lines. That is one too many options in my opinion.
How about the macbook pro or the iMac lineup?
What happened to choice?
I don't know if Apple would do it; but I;d like them to. :)

That's sort of like asking, "aside from saving lives, what makes vaccines so great?" Base-10 is exactly what makes metric superior. Having a system of units based entirely on decimals is extremely powerful. You can convert between units simply by moving a decimal point, express very small/large numbers in scientific notation, and clearly see the greater of two numbers with precision clearly expressed.
For example, which is greater? 5/16 or 7/18
Nicely put. Not only that, but there are some pretty neat relationships between different types of units, where one can be derived from another. For example, one litre of water weighs 1 kg and is contained within a 10 x 10 x 10 cm volume. That makes for some relatively simple mental conversions if you're ever stuck without your iPhone unit-conversion app one day. :)
For a country that prides itself on technological advancement, I find it truly perplexing that the USA can't fully embrace so brilliant a system.
Sure, change is painful… It's a bit like getting into cold water. But the best way is just to jump in and get it over and done with quickly, like Australia did back in the 70s.
Stop dabbling your toes in and fart-arsing around America! Just dive in and join the rest of the world! The water is great once you get used to it.

I prefer to rent movies. I rarely buy DVD's. That said, I'd like to see a rental option added to Apple's Movie Store.
Music is a different story. I prefer to own music.

Why not just make it a $20 product instead of giving it away for no profit?
I guess the question would be, would people feel MobileMe has $20 worth of value? As some folks have mentioned already, there's some free services that compete with some of the MobileMe tools. I don't use MobileMe at all now, but I certainly would give it a shot it were free. If a lot of people were like me, that might be a valuable subscriber base for iAds.
These people actually perceive this as being "Free" when in fact you're letting Google profit handsomely off your data.
I think people think of "free" generally as being "no money out of my pocket." And I don't pay Google any money to use their products. I do pay them in the loss of privacy, this is true. But that's a less tangible "price" than a bill coming every month or year.

I feel like im taking crazy pills...I think theres some confusion as to my feelings on the topic. Apple SHOULD include a discrete GPU in all of it's PRO Macbook line. Period. If you want a more exotic upgrade, fine. But to give a high end, expensive notebook integrated graphics is pure rubbish! Now, does Apple make more money by their status quo? Absolutely. Is is the right thing for the consumer? NO.

Maybe I'm missing something. I don't get all of the comments that iOS 4.3 is so outdated and in need of a major overhaul. I like 4.3. It works for me.
I like the notification system. An applet pops up when I have a notification and I can choose to ignore it or go into the app for more information. What is wrong with that? I'm all for doing things better and maybe someone can show me a better way.

With all this cloud based speculation I hope they build native Back to My Mac functionality right into the iOS.

How can we get a hold of that keynote that Macrummors said will cover?
The main page transforms, via dark magic, into a of constantly updated text portal.
Legend has it that one MR member gets sucked into the swirling portal of dark magic and is trapped in a parallel universe for eternity.
This happens once per keynote.

Here's a quick scale / mockup
does it look a bit unstable being so narrow?
Other than that, I imagine with all the minimisation that Apple has done with imacs, mini's etc it should be possible to keep the expandability in a smaller footprint.
Not so sure about having lots of external drives, instead of internal ones. For one, they are always more expensive, for two they probably eat more juice and they always have a power brick dangling off them.

There is absolutely no room for any case to work with the TomTom car kit.
I'm guessing you could have a clear protector application like Invisible Shield to prevent scratches and that would fit fine.

Instead of pixel based images that are just bigger, why not simply ship vector based icons/wallpapers ?
Good point! I was wondering the same myself.

I'm not really sure Apple cares about your school district.
Considering that we're one of the first schools in MN to adopt the iPad as a learning tool, and that there are many other schools that are going to wait a year or so to do the same thing, Apple sure does care, they even send representatives and stuff like that from time to time, lucky for us ;)
They might not care enough to change launch dates, but they care somewhat.
Jesus, it's not like the iPads you bought suddenly stop working when a new model comes out.
No, but it would cause an uproar among our faculty. I know they'll keep working, as you do too, but the other students and staff only want the newest and best. We're on a 3 year contract for iPads, and if they announce new iPads the month school starts, the complaints will never end. One year into owning them is a bit more feasible, however.
WOAH.
that's a lot of iPads!
That'll take forever to deliver!
They start coming in next week, supposedly! :) I'm more concerned about how much time it will take to set them up, because we only have 5 technology people at our district, and after I go to college there will only be 4. Thank you economy for leaving us shorthanded :(
that would be your fault for not reading reports
^^^^^
The word report suggests it was well thought out and documented given actual sources. What you mean to say is rumor.
Thanks :)
