These are scams. The sellers always seem to be in Spain or England for some reason and will send you the item after you use their escrow service, which of course is a fraud. If it's too good to be true, it's almost always a scam. Cavaet Emptor.

Ok, so I decided to buy SL 10.6 and a new HDD, but does anyone know if I have to first setup the new drive with the original disks 10.5 that came with the uMB, or can I just use SL 10.6? I also have the application disk with iLife 09 which I know I can instal after the OS.
When Apple sells SL do they include any other drivers and software so that I can just install using the SL disk?
Trying to make sure I am clear in what I am stating only because I do not want to have to load the original discs.

Use Redsn0w instead. I've got the EXACT same device (iPod touch 2g 4.2.1 8gb), and it works flawlessly for me
And, with redsn0w, you don't need to go through all that loader crap. It just installs Cydia directly on the SpringBoard. I've tried greenpoison before, and it didn't work for me, either (but for a different reason).

Export to Quicktime presentation, install Quicktime on PCs.

This method has a lot of drawbacks.
First, it generates huge files. All transitions are movies rather than a slide that is just rotated by a graphics program.
Second, You loose a lot of control over the presentation. Flipping back and forth between slides, cursor control, animation timing, etc.
Third, The final movie never looks as good for some reason. Maybe it is just a matter of changing parameters somewhere but my files are huge and my transitions, slides, fonts,etc. don't look as high res or clear.
I agree that Keynote needs a freely distributable player like PowerPoint has. This would allow you to send the condensed slide-only file to the OS X or Windows user and he or she would have the same control and effects over the presentation as in Keynote. QT just isn't the same as the PowerPoint freely distributed player on Windows.

Well yea you're on a Mac forum so you're going to get a lot of Mac replies... which IMO is all you need ;)
But seriously... if you want extreme portability a MBA will do great... the 13 inch ones are slim and have amazing battery life; if you're willing to get the 1.4/1.6ghz dual core instead of a 2.x one (dual), then you should be set. They all have the glass trackpad which is great as well.
Like I posted before though, I would suggest a MBP. They are still very portable and small in size compared to other laptops and have a performance (and build) increase compared to the regular, polycarbonate Macs.
What are you planning on doing with your computer? Where are you taking it? These things would help us out a lot :)

I have a Dell laptop now with a 30gb drive and have barely 5gb filled. I don't think having a 40gb in my iBook will be a big problem.
My iBook's 37GB (40GB before format) fills up really quick.
OSX Tiger alone takes up approximately 10GB unless you do a custom install and leave off the language packs and printer drivers.
An external drive would be nice because I would like to share files between computers.
Internal drives can also share files between computers.

I don't run it any more as it apparently rips hard drives and I couldn't be bothered setting up the RAM disk method. It also turns my G5 into a bit of a wind tunnel some times.
BS. Where are you getting your info? The CPU does all the work, the HD only stores the info crunched to send back to SETI. I am coming up on my 1st yr anniversary and no problems. My main machine is the G3/300, 6 yrs old and still purring like the day it was new. Just make sure you have a good air flow through the box and everything will be fine. It is the peps that use PowerBooks that burn up your machine, probably because they don't raise it off the table to get air underneath it. I use 1/2" rubber feet and a small desk fan blowing across the unit to cool my PowerBook the fan hardly comes on. My temps never exceed 109�F in my G3.

My 11" MBA was a bit wobbly when I first got it in December and I applied some gentle pressure on it on one side to make it even. That worked really well and it hasn't been wobbly since. The wobble was very minor, though, so it didn't really take much for it to be fixed.
Since you just bought it I'd imagine that they would exchange it without much of a hassle.

I smashed my 3GS few days, got the white on a 12 month contract, so longer it takes for the 5 to come out the better.

Can you see the drive in OS X? If so install NTFS-3G (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/ntfs3g.html), backup your files, remove the partition and reinstall.
That's the only solution afaik if the repair tool doesn't work.

Running 10.7 DP2. iTunes runs fine, until I plug in my iPhone, at which point iTunes beach balls uncontrollably.

Here's a similar project (http://www.clayj.com/html/BRVAIOBoy.htm) (although the description is not quite as detailed) on a Sony notebook, in case anyone wants to compare results.
The beauty of painting the iBook, in my opinion, though, is that since you can take off the shell and make it clear, you can paint the inside of it, therefore making it impossible to scratch off or damage any painting you do. I mean, the Vaio looks awesome and all, but you'd have to be darn careful with it. The down side is that you have to paint it like a mirror image, though, and you also have to paint the picture with the top layers first, which makes it kind of complicated.
But I mean, an iBook is an iBook... a Vaio... well, that's just a PC. :p
