When you call the doctors office to get an immigration physical appointment make sure you ask the following.
1. Check the fee. If their fee is very less then ask them and make sure the fee includes

I think other posters have dealt with the original subject in all possible angles already. So let me see if I can take a little diversion.
I just wanted to comment on this aspect of "parents wishing to help daughters thru pregnancy" and IO officers having issue with that. I have heard this problem mentioned in numerous instances. And also personally had to coach my parents to answer politically correctly.
But, How can the IO's say that the pregnant daughters can hire domestic help...Didn't they have wives who needed much needed moral support, age old wisdom, loving care that only mothers can provide to daughters when they are especially vulnerable emotionally as well as physically. What about daughters who want their mothers to be present during labour. Is that not a humane enough reason to allow a "Visitor Visa" ???
In what way can the IOs morally combine the two completely different issues of "domestic help" versus "The need for Parental presence/affection for Emotional help and guidance" and the "Emotional bonding time that a grandmother needs to bond with her first grand child" !!! I always seethe with rage whenever I hear about IOs denying parental visit to help out during pregnancy...The IOs always distort the 'help out' aspect with 'domestic/nanny help' and nothing else. Whereas almost always its much more than a mere 'nanny help'.

My PD is May 2004.
There are a total of 233816 pending application.
When I add up
ROW - all EBs,
China - all EBs,
Mexico - all EBs,
Philippine - all EBs,
India - all EBs execpt EB3,
India - EB3s (till May 2004)
I get a position of 199,283.
If the demand for Employment based application is low in the next 2 years (less than 80,000),
I think there is a good possiblity that I will have my GC in 2 years.
Please let me know if this logic is right. If not what I am doing wrong?

I think you are safe after getting receipt notice if you are in valid H1b status. Still you may be immediately after filing. Confirm that. But make sure do not apply EAD. If you apply EAD you need to get advance parol for travelling.
ie if I get the reciept notice? I also have my stamping for h1b will that be an issue?

in 2006 2007 everybody expected immigration bill to pass but it failed both the times......
is it possible that in 2010 when everybody expect the bill to fail..... it will actually pass?

I noticed that Sen Gilbert said there were many "cards" these were cards from people asking to give oral testimony, and they were out of time for hearing everyone.
So why did IV get to testify, with two people....?
Most likely because we had been working on this since at least 23rd, and were the only ones to provide written testimony to the committee clerk before the meeting (as of end of business yesterday).
This is still an up hill battle.
I'm looking forward to speaking with WalkingDude.

I am interpreting this the same way...if your LC is not approved you can retain the priority date. What is not clear is how the retained PD will be processed (under the new merit based system? or under the old system?)
